Boxee

March 11th, 2009

I received my AppleTV last night from über-retailer Amazon. I took it home and installed Boxee onto it. Boxee is The Shit.
Previously, I had been using UShare on my Linux desktop to stream video from the network share to play on the xbox 360 but it mysteriously stopped working a couple months ago.
Boxee is way better. The process to add it to the AppleTV took 5 minutes and was dead simple. Create a boot usbkey and then plug that shit in.

Trying to add my wifi key to the AppleTV was more frustrating and took longer. The onscreen keyboard is weirdly laid out alphabetically and the remote wasn’t behaving. It would take me mashing in the button ten times for it to register. Typing in a long passphrase was not happening so I gave up and attached an Ethernet cable.
Boxee 1. AppleTV 0.

Sucks to be this guy

As seen on the walk into work this morning.

Good to be back in SF

February 24th, 2009

I’ve been on four trains today and on three of them there has been a sketchy homeless-looking guy sleeping in the seats.
That and the smell of urine on the BART from the airport are quite the “welcome home”.

BART = LAME

February 17th, 2009

Once again BART decided to deploy an entire car where the doors don’t work. What is the point for a commute time train that you can’t get in to? Sure once you’re in a different car you can enter of via the aisle doors but that’s just weaksauce.

Fanboys

February 13th, 2009

So I just saw Fanboys. It finally came out in theatres even though I had seen a trailer for it on the Clerks II DVD. It was exactly what you would expect a movie about a Star Wars cross-country road trip movie would be like.

AWESOME.

We have a place to hold a wedding now. Finalizing the invite design tonight and got a photographer too.
This shit just got real.

People are weird

January 30th, 2009

On BART today there was a delay getting into the first SF-side station. It was announced on the PA system and then everyone stood up and crowded around the doors. WTF. Dudes could stay seated and enjoy more rest while it takes forever to arrive instead of invading my personal space.

Lots of bart cops on BART tonight.
