Cake

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Cake tasting has been accomplished. We’ve been to two vendors. Both cakes were good and had nice simple minimal designs but the second place’s cake was better; a bit more moist. There will be chocolate.

Gym round two

So tonight, of course, the gym was practically dead and all the new equipment was open, if rearranged and tricky to find.

Gym = FAIL

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Crunch (my gym) had decided that today was a good day to get rid of some old equipment. This meant the were no elliptical machines, a few less flat benches and only one, instead of three, benchpress spots. Just the sort of thing to have on your busiest evening.
Yay.
This stopped me from moving me bench to weight ratio past even. Booo.

Boxee

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

I received my AppleTV last night from über-retailer Amazon. I took it home and installed Boxee onto it. Boxee is The Shit.
Previously, I had been using UShare on my Linux desktop to stream video from the network share to play on the xbox 360 but it mysteriously stopped working a couple months ago.
Boxee is way better. The process to add it to the AppleTV took 5 minutes and was dead simple. Create a boot usbkey and then plug that shit in.

Trying to add my wifi key to the AppleTV was more frustrating and took longer. The onscreen keyboard is weirdly laid out alphabetically and the remote wasn’t behaving. It would take me mashing in the button ten times for it to register. Typing in a long passphrase was not happening so I gave up and attached an Ethernet cable.
Boxee 1. AppleTV 0.
