Flew back down to Oakland yesterday. Almost missed my connecting flight in Seattle. The flight into Seattle was delayed by an hour, eating into the 2 hour layover I had arranged to handle fun customs things. The customs was fun. I was behind a Kenyan woman and a Russian man neither spoke English and took a good 15-20 minutes to get processed. Then the border guard couldn’t find my TN extension saying that I was good until September 2008. If the border dude back in Montreal had stamped my paperwork back in October this would have been simple. By the time that my papers were in order the plane was boarding and I was on the other side of the airport. Three transfer trains later, several concered phone calls and some running up escalators and I arrived just in time to be the last person on the plane.
As for the back home stuff it was fun, if a lot of “When is the wedding? You’d better get planning.” from anyone and everyone that we talked to.
